The big day is here!  Regardless of if we like how these teams landed here or not, it’s a great day for the college football fan.   We have thrown together a little link and quote dump for you Jabberheads (you officially have a nickname).  Also some poll results from here and around the web.

In the FootballJabber.com poll, Jabberheads voted 52% in favor of Ohio State.

FoxSports.com poll has LSU the favorite by 56%

ESPN has 66% for LSU

CBSSports.com poll has LSU by 60%

A little off topic, 36% at an CNNSI.com poll think that Georgia should be the team to play the title game winner if there were a “Plus One” game.

Some linkage for you…

LSU is tired of hearing they shouldn’t be there…

“I really feel it was our destiny to be here,” LSU receiver Early Doucet said. “For things to go the way they went — us losing to Arkansas, Pittsburgh beating West Virginia and Oklahoma beating Missouri — it all fell into place the way it did and I just think it was meant to be.”

Why the BCS title game is important beyond football.

The team Skippers share a Kodak moment.

A “Tail of the Tape” on these two Powerhouses.

FoxSports.com has 10 reasons why LSU and Ohio State will each win.

They also have a position by position breakdown of the game.  Here is a taste of how has the advantage at QB…

LSU, by a little. The two options give the Buckeyes more to worry about while Boeckman has to prove he can handle himself in the face of a steady pass rush. Boeckman will have to do more than the LSU quarterbacks to win.

Despite the outcome, Dennis Dodd at CBSSports.com says this decade belongs to Ohio.

Glenn Dorsey is all the rage right now.  Here is some on him.

  2. Looks like the Jabberheads are standing on their own, taking the Buckeyes to win in New Orleans. Over at TheFanYard, our users are taking the Tigers. 67% to win straight up and the Yardstick for the game calls for a 5-point LSU victory.

    Jabberheads. Love it.

  3. [...] When the Ohio State Buckeyes play the LSU Tigers tonight in New Orleans, the Tigers will have as close to what could be considered home-field advantage as possible in a national championship game. Probably to do with this, many are picking the Tigers to win, but not all. [...]
