The End of “Inside the NFL”
My introduction to the deep voice overs of NFL Films came while laying on the living room floor watching the wonderful new cable TV thing we had as a child. Nick Buoniconti and Len Dawson told me on HBO’s “Inside the NFL” about the weeks games and the games to come. I got to watch football highlights! I would do stretches while watching before going out for my own day long re-creation of Tony Dorsett and Walter Payton’s amazing moves.
Last nights episode of the show was it’s last. After 31 years HBO has hung up it’s cleats on it’s football vehicle. I have not had HBO for a couple months now and do wish I could have watched the end. It is amazing that it lasted as long as it did in the days of ESPN and now the NFL Network. Just a few months ago I was watching and telling myself I was surprised it was still on, as I reminisced about the things that I had seen on the show. I have to admit that in these short attention span days of the internet, an hour long show giving highlights that I had already seen was a little much for me.
Here’s to you “Inside the NFL” and HBO! Now what we need is an NFL Films tribute to the show.

[...] Inside the NFL was cancelled. HBO probably wasn’t paying the NFL enough for the video clips or something. [...]
