You getting the itch? What itch? The fantasy football drafting itch. It’s that time when the free services start opening the flood gates. I would have to say that the Public leagues that start up in the free services in Yahoo in June and July are the most likely to have deadbeat owners during the season. Why? Because some people just want to draft….NOW. If your one of these people that just wants to draft for the sake of drafting, don’t sign up for a league on whim just to do so. As I’m looking over the headlines in my feed reader I come across Clark Judge’s article on New York Giants WR/ Super Bowl Hero, David Tyree. You remember Tyree, right? The Full-Time Fantasy Running Back has become a bit of a rarity. More teams are going to a Running Back by Committee approach and carries are getting lost on third down and at the Goal Line as well. How does this effect your fantasy RB? Sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes it is nerve racking. Carries don’t mean everything, right? But sometimes you just have to think that if your guy is touching the ball more there is more opportunity than if he is on the bench.

This year the NFL Rookies are taking part in a program that takes them through the NFL Hall of Fame. This is supposed to give them an idea of the history of the game, what they can accomplish, and a sense of responsibility. Michael Irvin is getting credit for this. He told the Commish about it in August of 2007…I posted it in March of 2007.
