The Bedpan|Fantasy Football Injury Watch

http://footballjabber.comWe know some of you jump to attention when an NFL player’s injury is brought up on ESPN because you are a caring person.  For some it’s because they have a fantasy football draft coming up and those hamstring injuries tend to linger, sometimes all season long.  Something we did last year was The Bedpan.  This is a time to have a look at those injuries around the NFL and some of the cause and effect it can have on your fantasy team on Sunday or your waiver moves.  With the preseason firing up it looks like it’s time to bring the bedpan out again!

Donte Stallworth got off the bike on the sidelines long enough to step on Braylon Edwards foot and send him to the hospital.  Apparently they were playing around racing when Stallworth’s spike caught Edwards in the heel.  Romeo isn’t too concerned…

“They stitched him up and wanted to make sure everything was operating okay and that nothing major was going on,” said Crennel. “I think they just kept him to make sure.”

T.J. Houshmandzadeh is still nursing a sore hamstring.  This opened the door for  Antonio Chatman to get more playing time Saturday.

Anquan Boldin is still hampered with a hammy as well but is feeling better.  Too bad Early Doucet is dealing with the same issue because this would be a prime time for him to be getting more reps.

Kevin Jones (ACL last season) has started practicing with his new team in Chicago.

“It felt great,” Jones said. “They are just working me in to see what I can handle. What they gave me was pretty good.”

DJ Hackett’s foot isn’t letting him run after that starting spot next to Steve Smith just yet in Carolina.  John Fox isn’t too concerned.  I’ll bet Hackett is since he has a free spot for at elast two weeks if he can play while Steve Smith is suspended.

Gary Kubiak on Ahman Green’s injury this weekend…

“He has a slight pull in his groin. It doesn’t look severe. It looks like we’re pretty fortunate there. I’m going to list him as day-to-day right now. I kind of see him like (WR) Andre (Johnson) coming off that thing a week ago. I think if we were in the season and playing right now that we would push it harder and try to get him back quicker. I think right now we’ll be smart; we’ll list him as day-to-day. Chances of him playing this week, though, I would think would be very slim, but it looks like we’re very fortunate. It doesn’t look like it’s too severe.”

The Injury list for the Saints is still HUGE.  Reggie Bush (knee) was back on the field this morning and Deuce McAllister (three knees if he had another one) was looking good making some cuts.  Despite the injuries that are lined up the Saints started tackling in practice.

NOTE:  To get the injury news like this on Monday go to The Hazean for Monday Morning Rehab during the season.  The Bedpan is later in the week when rosters have to be submitted.
