23 Fantasy Football Quick Reads
Last week I got quite a bit of jabber about dropping Peyton Manning out of the Top 3 in our fantasy football re-draft rankings. To the point that some fans were swearing at me. Here is the thing. You have a guy who could potentially miss a couple games, we don’t know. Missing two games in most standard scoring leagues can mean around 60 points on the season for Manning. There are a couple of other QB’s with talent around them that are not looking at possibly missing games right now. Peyton Manning will put up solid numbers when he is in, no doubt. But I’m drafting for the whole season and as of right now we have not even been given a certain answer (yeah Dungy says he would be shocked if he didn’t go but he isn’t saying he is) if he will be going week one. If he does, how long will he last? Word is they are having trouble with swelling in the knee and he isn’t even playing yet.
Anyway, the reason I’m throwing this down in Quick Reads is because I wanted to share that others have dropped Manning in rankings as well. Fantasy Football Fools, Ultimate FF Strategy, Rotoworld (Aug. 28th-He will make a bargain third rounder!), No-Offseason goes a step further and calls Drew Brees #1, ESPN has him at #33 overall (4th QB).

Peyton Manning #4 - you are on crack!
We believe he retakes the #1 QB mantle this year, the data don’t lie!
THis is why they play the games. Looking forward to seeing who’s right!
Yes, me and my crack think he is #4 if you are DRAFTING TODAY. These are not where he ranks as an NFL QB.
Stay strong, Lee. I won’t touch Manning this year because too many people won’t let him fall to his value.
He’s just not a sure thing like usual this year. To really bring out the facts…he’s only finished as one of the top two fantasy QBs three times in 10 years.
