FootballJabber.com NFL News We know that Peyton Manning’s injury is a little more serious, but it is strange that there has really not been as much about Tom Brady and his ankle in the news.  Brady reports that he will be ready go for the Patriots, but Billy B isn’t saying until Friday.  Brady would not give a percentage of chance…

“I don’t know,” Brady said with a smile. “Coach hates percentages, so I usually don’t give them. I have been yelled at more times with comments I make so I am laying off that one. Write that, so he reads that, too.”

Some interesting takes on Marion Barber from a couple of Cowboys legends at Running Back.

Emmitt Smith says there is no way he can carry the ball four quarters…

“I think he spends a lot of energy that may not be necessary,” Smith said when he attended Cowboys practice this spring. “For a starting back, I’m all about putting your heart into it, but you’re doing a lot of kicking, running up, bucking and you’re exerting a lot of energy.

“We need you for four quarters. And I’m going to say ‘we’ because I’m a Cowboy, too. We need you for four quarters.”

Tony Dorsett thinks he is a diamond in the rough…

“He can make a run that can get the crowd involved here at Texas Stadium and get his teammates revved up as well,” Dorsett said. “I like this guy. I like him a whole lot. My only concern is that this is a very physical league.

“When you take a lot of hits over a period of time, it takes its toll on you. I just hope he becomes a little wiser and smarter about some of the hits he takes.”

The Saints are hoping to be able to host the Bucs at home this weekend.

Ricky Williams hopes to retire a Dolphin.  Hasn’t he once already?

Trent Edwards and Lee Evans think that the Bills are heading in the right direction.

“Well, I think we did a lot of good things this preseason,” said Evans, who caught eight passes for 99 yards in brief duty. “Just from an execution standpoint, we got better week to week. I think that some of the things we have going on offensively are very promising. I’m looking forward to it and I’m excited about it.”

Said Edwards: “I’m not concerned at all. I’m very, very happy with the way things have gone so far this offseason, this training camp.

“I’m very excited with the skill position players that we have, and I’m very excited with the way the front five have been blocking all camp.”

Nobody expected Joe Flacco to be the starter on opening day for the Ravens…including the Ravens.

“If anyone wrote this in a movie script, no one would believe it,” John Harbaugh said. “The thing that is kind of exciting is that you couldn’t envision this scenario. It wasn’t one that we planned.”

Derek Anderson should be a go in Cleveland.  Meanwhile, Brady Quinn let’s out a big, “Awwwww Man!”

Don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to seeing what Chris Johnson can do in week one.  An impressive showing will be that much more impressive against the Jags D.

Ron Jawarski is concerned with the QB turnover these days in the NFL.

“I’m very much concerned about the development of quarterbacks in the NFL,” Jaworski said. “I don’t see them coming out of the collegiate level. You’re seeing the spread option becoming the predominant offense, not developing quarterbacks for the pro game because they’re not reading coverage or reading defenses and limited in the game plan and playbook.

“I don’t remember it being like this.”

Forget the percieved drop off from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers.  A twisted ankle could have Matt Flynn leading the Packers.
