Will Sam Bradford Refuse to Sign Pre-Draft Contract?

The team with the first overall pick in the NFL Draft is allowed to negotiate contracts before the draft. While this can take some suspense away from the draft itself it certainly is a help to that team to be sure they get their player in. In the last four years the only first overall player chosen that did not have the ink in place was JaMarcus Russel, and that turned into a holdout.

The Rams are  talking with the agents of Ndamukong Suh, Gerald McCoy, Jimmy Clausen, and Sam Bradford in hopes of getting this cleared up early. ProFootballTalk.com is reporting that there is a chance that Sam Bradford will not sign with the Rams. This could force the Rams to go another player or trade the pick…or draft Bradford and trade him. Keeping things interesting anyway ,huh?

Where else is he likely to land that would make him happier? The Redskins would certainly love to scoop him up at the fourth pick. The Browns may be willing to trade for him but maybe not into the #1 pick. Would he really rather be in Buffalo than St. Louis? Is this just a way to make the first pick more exciting since it could be finished days before the draft…?
