One of the fastest rising talents at Wide Receiver in the NFL is becoming one of the fastest fallers on fantasy draft boards. Vincent Jackson’s tiff with the San Diego Chargers, along with his three game suspension to start the 2010 season, is causing the star’s stock to drop in fantasy rankings. The Charger has fallen from 15 to 45 in the latest Football Jabber WR rankings update.

It’s one thing to think you are drafting the guy knowing that he will be taking up a bench spot for three weeks. It’s another not knowing if there are going to be another seven weeks of him not playing. Although holdouts are rare that deep into the season, Jackson can miss ten games and still claim his title of unrestricted free agent in 2011.

Of course there is the possibility that Jackson could be traded (though unlikely) or that he could suit up after the suspension. Fantasy Owners with late drafts can watch this unfold as the season approches, hoping there is a resolution. Owners drafting soon should stay away until the late rounds.

Philip Rivers, Antonio Gates, and Malcolm Floyd are watching their fantasy stock move as a result as well. Rivers down a little bit, Gates and Floyd benefiting. There isn’t too high for Gates to travel on ranking lists, but the expected increase in targets could help some decide over him and Dallas Clark. Floyd has went from being unranked in our Top 50 WRs to #22.
