This is a very exciting time for an NFL fan. All we are really going to see is reports of guys running around on a practice field. It’s more than that for us, isn’t it? Roster battles, hold outs, injuries. Most important is that it is a sure sign that the season is right on top of us. Seems just like yesterday we were enjoying the new streamlined NFL Draft. Let’s have a look around the league at some NFL Jabber to wet our whistles a little bit… Read more

NFL News and Jabber
It appears that Roger Goodell has come up with his latest way to shake up the NFL. He has already made great improvements with the player conduct and shortening up the NFL Draft. Now it sounds like the Commish wants to put his stamp on the outrageous salary that is demanded to sign the top NFL rookies. Looking at Jake Long’s deal with the Fins it appears that it has ruffled Roger’s feathers a little… Read more

Baltimore Ravens
Needs: QB, WR, CB, DL, LB, RB
Baltimore suffered a serious fall from grace last year after they competed with Cincinnati for bottom feeder in the AFC North; a year removed from winning the division with an impressive 13-3 record. In the wake of Steve McNair’s retirement and a new coaching staff, a new QB is at the top of the wish list along with numerous offensive playmakers. The Ravens usually stout defense is aging rapidly and does not have a backup plan if Bart Scott and/or Ray Lewis were to leave via free agency in the upcoming year. Read more
NFL Free Agency | Trade Jabber 2/29/08
The melting pot of the NFL, Free Agency has begun! With that we see teams shooting trades and cutting players, trying to beat the deadline as well. Let’s have a look around at the NFL Free Agency and trade happenings.
It appears that the Saints have finally got another big name LB after all these years. Well, was a big name before injuries and the 3-4 defense hampered his productivity in New York. Word is that Jonathan Vilma will be going to the Saints for a conditional draft pick. If he can get past the bum knee, Vilma is what the Saints have been missing for some time and they can shift the focus of their $30 Million in cap space elsewhere. After it appearing that Brian Young and Mark Simoneau would be set out to pasture, the Saints worked deals out to keep them In New Orleans. The Saints are still rumored to be looking at Asante Samuel and his hefty price tag.
The Eagles gave the boot to Jevon Kearse. Poor fella has never really lived up to that Freak in Tennessee.
“We tried to work out a restructure with the Eagles and it didn’t work out,” Drew Rosenhaus said last week at the NFL Scouting Combine. “He had a wonderful career there.”
The Eagles could also be looking to bulk up their defensive backfield with Gibril Wilson and Asante Samuel.
Ty Law’s days in Kansas City appear to be coming to an end. The Chiefs have told Law that he will be released, likely in the next week. This type of thing cracks me up. Why tell him that and wait a week? That’s like your girlfriend of couple years telling you your going to break up…but not until next week, me and the girls are going to be going to Spring Break and when i get back we can break up then.
QB Crowding in Cleveland
January 10, 2008 by Lee · 2 Comments
Things are going to get interesting in Cleveland with the Quarterback position. You have to think the Browns love having the problem of what to do with both Derek Anderson and Brady Quinn. The Browns are looking at keeping Anderson away from the RFA market with an offer that will make him think twice about straying.
At the same time, Brady Quinn isn’t going anywhere…at least for now according to Phil Savage.
”Sitting here today and going into next year, we want to go into next season with both quarterbacks,” Savage said. ”I don’t want to do anything that will derail us from having a potentially good season next year. The quickest way to do that is an injury to the quarterback position and not having anybody ready to go.
”Am I saying both quarterbacks are off the market for 2008? Yeah, I’m saying that, but obviously, some things have to be done before you can know that.”
Regardless of this comment we can look forward to all kinds of trade speculation in the coming months with Brady Quinn’s name involved. Keep a look out for the first mainstream writer that has Quinn going to Miami.
