It appears that we may be on to something with our Triplets vs. Stud RB Theory and Comparing Draft Theories thoughts. Kevin at the Fantasy Football Calculator Blog has some nice charts that appear to show that ADP trends may be supporting the idea that drafting two RB’s in the first two rounds is a thing of the past. Go check it out for yourself! Read more
Anquan Boldin ticked and other Favreless NFL News
July 25, 2008 by Lee · Leave a Comment
It’s safe to say that Anquan Boldin is a little ticked off. All appeared to be going well when it was reported that Boldin would show up to camp this week, but things could be going very, very wrong. A team Captain last season, he says that he was promised a new deal (again) and now has told Drew Rosenhause to call off the talks.
“Right now, I don’t want a deal,” he said Thursday after the players went through a running drill. “You may think I’m funny or saying that just to say it, but for me, I’m tired of it. I washed my hands of the whole situation.” Read more
Three QB Camp Battles You Have to Watch
There isn’t much better in NFL Camps than the good old quarterback battle. Who will be the team leader? It’s kind of funny when you think about it. We wait until the coaching staff says…”Okay, your a leader…” to who they decide is going to throw the ball for them. We have seen it many times in the past where the QB is not really the best leader on the team, but it comes with the position title.
Anyway, here are three camp battles that you have to keep an eye on. Why do you want to watch these guys you won’t draft anyway? Everyone wants to be the guy who got their hands on the sleeper of the year. More important, it effects the rest of the fantasy ballers on the team. Read more
Positions Battles and Breadowns|Camp Time!

This is a very exciting time for an NFL fan. All we are really going to see is reports of guys running around on a practice field. It’s more than that for us, isn’t it? Roster battles, hold outs, injuries. Most important is that it is a sure sign that the season is right on top of us. Seems just like yesterday we were enjoying the new streamlined NFL Draft. Let’s have a look around the league at some NFL Jabber to wet our whistles a little bit… Read more
THE Fantasy Football Experts League
July 22, 2008 by Lee · Leave a Comment
How do you define Fantasy Football Expert? At what level of fantasy footballness to you achieve this? Is it by won/loss record? Is it by getting paid to talk about it? Is it because people tell you they are an expert? The last two years I have been given this label by being invited to participate in expert leagues. Last season I won the league, making me a little more comfortable with the title. This year I was given the label by Junkyard Jake with an invite to the Bum Phillips Texas Barbecue Fantasy Experts Challenge. So anyway, right now, I’m going with you are defined as a fantasy football expert by others. I don’t care, I’m just happy to be in this league, should be fun. Read more
I Mock You With Round One of the Blogger Mock
Yes, I’ll take the #7 pick please…can you add a little stress to the side? Stress in a mock draft? Yes, it can be stressful. Even in a league that will never take a fantasy snap, I feel I must destroy my peers. It’s the second year of the Hazean Fantasy Bloggers Mock Draft. I have to say, last year I had fun doing this and met some people that I still cyber talk to almost everyday. I’m sure that is more of a positive for me than them, but I digest. Read more
Drew Brees, Meet Jeremy Shockey
July 21, 2008 by Lee · 2 Comments
This finally happened. Next years 2nd and 9th round picks of the New Orleans Saints now belong to the New York Giants. Jeremy Shockey will team up with Sean Payton, who was his O-Coordinator in his rookie season, in New Orleans. Something jumped out at me in John Clayton’s little snippet… Read more

Comparing Draft Theories
July 14, 2008 by Lee · 10 Comments
Last week I decided to test some of the Old School Fantasy Football Drafting Theories. I ran 24 mock drafts to look for differences in the Two Running Backs in the first two rounds theory opposed to the “Triplets” where you take a QB/RB/WR in the first three rounds (order determined by best available at the three positions per round). There was a draft performed from each draft position in a 12 team league. You can view the results HERE. You should really go read that first and then come back and join us. Read more
Triplets vs. Stud RB Theory
July 11, 2008 by Lee · 8 Comments
There was a time when the accepted approach to a fantasy football draft was to draft running backs in the first two, sometimes the first three rounds, regardless of draft position. Drafting two RB’s these days in the first two rounds just might make you an “also ran” before the draft is even over. Certainly if you go three. An opposing theory, Triplets, would have owners taking a RB, QB, or WR in the first three rounds. The order would be determined by best available at those positions, but RB would be the logical starting point. This could also have you skipping over a RB that could outscore the QB or WR taken because you stick to the rule. In these days of RBBC, stud QB’s, and the emergence of points per reception and the fantasy WR, old school draft strategies just may not hold up. The importance of preparing for your draft position should determine your theory. Read more
