The smell of fireworks are in the air and the countdown to NFL Training Camps is underway as we roll into July…YEAH! I’m really liking this Fantasy Football Quick Reads. It forces me to keep up with what is going on in the fantasy world as I seem to just keep getting caught up in real life stuff lately. We don’t have time for no stinking real life stuff, do we? NFL News and Jabber
It appears that Roger Goodell has come up with his latest way to shake up the NFL. He has already made great improvements with the player conduct and shortening up the NFL Draft. Now it sounds like the Commish wants to put his stamp on the outrageous salary that is demanded to sign the top NFL rookies. Looking at Jake Long’s deal with the Fins it appears that it has ruffled Roger’s feathers a little… Read more

- Michael Lombardi is not convinced that Jim Zorn’s West Coast Offense is the best fit for the personnel in Washington. From a fantasy perspective, watch how Santana Moss and the other WR’s are adapting in camp. Clinton Portis should be juuuuust fine. Read more
David Tyree a Permanent Giant?
June 14, 2008 by Lee · Leave a Comment
As I’m looking over the headlines in my feed reader I come across Clark Judge’s article on New York Giants WR/ Super Bowl Hero, David Tyree. You remember Tyree, right? Made a pretty good catch in the last game of the year. Let me rephrase that…Made one of the greatest, most important, catches in Super Bowl and NFL History! So anyway, Judge ponders the fact that Tyree may not even make the Giants roster this season. Read moreRankings| Fantasy RB Average Carries Compared to Carries Lost
June 13, 2008 by Lee · 2 Comments
The Full-Time Fantasy Running Back has become a bit of a rarity. More teams are going to a Running Back by Committee approach and carries are getting lost on third down and at the Goal Line as well. How does this effect your fantasy RB? Sometimes it doesn’t, sometimes it is nerve racking. Carries don’t mean everything, right? But sometimes you just have to think that if your guy is touching the ball more there is more opportunity than if he is on the bench.

This year the NFL Rookies are taking part in a program that takes them through the NFL Hall of Fame. This is supposed to give them an idea of the history of the game, what they can accomplish, and a sense of responsibility. Michael Irvin is getting credit for this. He told the Commish about it in August of 2007…I posted it in March of 2007.
Benson Arrested Again…Ugh
Sorry Benny…we just can’t go to bat for you anymore. Cedric Benson has been arrested yet again in Austin, Texas. As you may have heard Cedric had a little trouble on Lake Travis not long ago. Austin just doesn’t seem to be the place to be for Benson.
Can a Man Attend 35 NFL games in 1 Season?
A few weeks ago I was contacted by a fellow from London named Adam. He told me a little about a trip he was going to take this year that involves attending 35 NFL games in one season. I found the idea fascinating. What NFL fan wouldn’t love to pull this off? Adam and I had a sit down (each on our own computers on opposite ends of the world) for a little Q&A on this football trip that would be a fantasy for any of us.Fantasy Football Tip of the Day #2
June 4, 2008 by Lee · Leave a Comment

Last year around this time I shared a tip with a fellow that is in a few of my leagues. Let’s call him Fantasy Football Joe. Joe was looking for a way to save time while finding news on the players that were on his team. An RSS reader was not an option for Joe because he had convinced himself that he was too old for that new tech-like stuff. So then it dawned on me that I already used a site that would be perfect for Joe…one of my biggest rivals.
Henry, Alexander, Jones…who do you want?

So the Broncos gave the boot to Travis Henry. To be honest it was an overcrowded backfield so it does not bring much of a surprise. The Bigger Name has never been something to count on in Denver anyway as they always tend to go with the hot hand at the moment at Running Back.
